An Enrolled Agent (EA) is a tax professional who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS. EAs are unrestricted in the types of tax matters they can handle, and they have unlimited practice rights, meaning they can represent clients for any tax issue. To become an EA, individuals must pass a comprehensive three-part IRS exam covering both individual and business tax returns, adhere to ethical standards, and complete 72 hours of continuing education every three years.

While CPAs may focus on a broad range of services, such as financial statements, audits, and business accounts, most EAs specialize in tax law, making them highly knowledgeable in tax preparation and planning. If you choose either a CPA or EA, ensure that your practitioner is qualified and experienced in handling the type of return you need, and that they have the required PTIN to prepare tax returns for compensation.

While we implement thorough quality controls to ensure accuracy and minimize errors, mistakes or omissions can occasionally happen. If we make an error, we stand by our work and will correct it at no additional cost to you. We will also cover any interest or penalties resulting from our mistake. If the error is due to missing information or a corrected form on your end, we will work with you to determine the best course of action to resolve the issue.

First, don’t panic. It's common for the IRS or Department of Revenue to send letters regarding changes or updates to your account. The best course of action is to contact us as soon as possible. We’ll help you understand the issue, review the letter, and develop a plan before you respond to the agency. Using the correct language and addressing the situation appropriately is crucial for achieving the best possible outcome.
